Mario Balotelli: I spoke only once with Jürgen Klopp

By | October 4, 2016

The former Liverpool player, striker Mario Balotelli has admitted that he had only one conversation with current coach of “Reds” once, and not one of his former clubs, Liverpool or AC Milan was not ideal for him.

A 26-year-old footballer who transferred to AC Milan in January 2013 and a year later moved to English club, never really settled down on the Merseyside. Last season he returned to San Siro, where he, however, had bad luck once again and struggled with injuries.

But this season he looks confidently in Nice where he scored 6 goals in 5 matches. Now he admitted that in this summer when he returned to Anfield from AC Milan talked to Jürgen Klopp only once.

Klopp does not know him as a player and told him to try it on loan somewhere else, work hard and then think about the return. Balotelli then said goodbye to him, adding that they will not see each other again.

He also said that Milan or Liverpool are not for him, but he does not blame the clubs – they just do not present ideal conditions for him. In neither team, he made mistakes in the game or had bad behaviour, just had bad luck with injuries. At least that is what the player says about himself.

Balotelli described the atmosphere in Milan as confusing and is currently feeling happy Nice and established, although this Sunday in the match against Lorient he got the red card.
He sees the problem in Milan mainly in administration, adding that in the club there is only one person and that is a phenomenal CEO Adriano Galliani. Everything else is just a mess.
Regarding his new club, he chose Nice not only because of climatic conditions. He wanted to be in a quiet and beautiful environment at the same time, where he will avoid bad luck. Another reason was the average age of the club – all players are around his age.

Balotelli was not elected to the Italian national team squad in the upcoming qualifying matches for the World Cup at home against Spain and then away against Macedonia. Last time he played for the national team was in the defeat of Italy with Uruguay in the final match of the group stage at the World Cup in 2014 in Brazil.

He kept his reverence and trust to the national team, where he still wants to play and wants to get the best of him to convince Giampiero Ventura.

He does not blame the coach for not being chosen, on the contrary, he thinks he did the right thing. Balotelli in a matter of fact wants to return to the national team after playing his best game.
